SNOW DAY!!! Well kinda....

I got a text from my boss this morning around 5:30 saying we are still under snow plan so not to come into work. I have ever was still in a nice slumber at that hour of the morning, so I texted her at 7 when I got up asking her if she thought it would be lifted this morning and she said probably :-( So for my co-workers who work at the butt crack of dawn they got a nice little break, but since I don't have to be there till 9:30 it will probably be lifted by then... so I got to be excited for about 30 seconds about my FIRST EVER snow day. Yep that's right I've lived in this state my WHOLE life (minus 2 winters in Arizona/New Mexico) and I have never gotten a damn snow day, I feel cheated to say the least. I did get to get off work 2 and 1/2 hours early yesterday though so no complaining there! I spent my extra time napping, and taste testing chili I had cooking in the slow cooker :-) It was freaking nasty out yesterday afternoon! These are pictures from the drive to work yesterday

This is coming over the bridge into town, doesn't the sky look nice?

This is one of the main streets through town

And this is the road from my house leading to town

And then I took some pictures from this morning when I let my little monster outside:

My little monster is only 10 months old so this fall was his first experience with snow. The first time he went out in it and there was more than just a little skiff he was not a happy camper, but he has since gotten over it as you can tell :-) He's kinda funny to watch try and figure out how to get through it when there isn't already a trail from the big dogs

This is right outside our apartment, notice the grass in the background in both of these pictures... The dang wind blows LIKE CRAZY here so it makes all the snow drift, lucky for us we live on the side of the building where it all drifts.

Our snow covered grill.... the wind doesn't get to our little porch very much so I think that is probably closer to the total amount of snow that felt as opposed to the huge mounds on the other side.

I currently also have about a foot and a half tall drift behind my car, but I didn't want to trek out there to take a picture of it. They did plow though so if I can get through the little drift I should be good. The boyfriend left yesterday morning to check on the horses, and 4 stuck trucks, a broken snow plow, and about 8 hours later he made it home. He said the horses looked less than impressed at the weather, and luckily they broke the snow plow after they got the other 4 trucks unstuck. Just a lovely April day in Wyoming :-)
