I have to leave my house at the butt crack of early tomorrow, so I doing another post tonight since I won't be able to do one tomorrow morning. Not so fun Sunday turned into good news Monday! The doctor said that my knee and hip need strengthened and that my whole right leg is weaker than my left. Whew I was relived to hear that it was going to be an easy fix. He said my knee looks really good from the surgery and is really stable it's just weak. I am meeting with a PT tomorrow morning to do an eval and get a workout set up to get my right leg caught up with my left and my knee and hip stronger. He didn't say anything about stopping running or working out, but I am going to only run twice this week before my 5k! We will see what the PT tomorrow says, but I think if he thought I needed to not be running he would of told me.
I had all intentions of coming home and getting in an elliptical workout, but I started feeling really crappy at work. I'm not sure what is going on, but there was no way I was going to work out. I ate some chicken noodle soup and rice (don't judge me) and have vegged out on the couch. My legs and arm are definitely feeling my workout this morning so I am not feeling too guilty about skipping it. I am feeling like a lameo though that after I pledge to do my Nike Training workouts every morning that I am not going to get it in tomorrow :-( But in my previous experience the PT's usually give me a pretty good work out.
In other good news a woman reached out to me on My Fitness Pal and she helped boost my confidence about my half marathon. She was just the motivation I needed, this morning I was really feeling down about it and thinking that I set an unattainable goal. She gave me some advice and assured me that with dedication and hard work it is totally reasonable to do a half in 21 weeks. I would definitely feel better about it if I was doing 5 mile runs regularly as opposed to struggling through 3 mile ones, but I can't change the effort I put in in the past I can only work hard from here on out. I really think that my morning work outs will help my running, and hopefully will help me burn off some of my extra pudge. Here's to getting serious about getting healthy and active!
