My brain is just fried this week I have tons going on and when I was thinking this post out this morning I had all sorts of ideas, but now my brain is just tired! Sorry if this is another random rambling post I will do my best to keep it together! First things first I made it to my 3rd Butts and Guts class!!! Woot woot I am pretty proud of myself because it is EARLY in the morning and takes quite a bit of dedication for me to get there. I really do feel better though when I get my work outs in early and don't have to worry about it after work. I already feel myself getting stronger, and I am getting better at the exercises so I'm really happy I started going! I know I haven't posted progress pictures in awhle or done my measurements, but I really want to wait till the end of next week to do it. Next week I am going to be going into work early, so I get to leave earlier, which means I get to make all the awesome fitness classes they offer in the afternoon! I'm super pumped for that and think it will be really good for my over all fitness. I'm kinda sad I'll miss my little 5:30 group, but I will be back to them in a week so it's not too sad. Next week's schedule looks like:
Monday: I'm going to take a class from the guy who does the bootcamp class (the first class I did at the gym) and then do Zumba after. Monday is going to be a break day from running for me and I have never done Zumba so I'm excited!
Tuesday: I'm going to take cardio kick boxing and run! I'm hoping I don't die, but I have always wanted to try a kick boxing class.
Wednesday: I am going to do a speed treadmill workout and take my gym's version of body pump, I have heard really good things about these classes so I'm hoping it will live up to it's reputation.
Thursday: I'm going to run and take the bootcamp class
Friday: Is still up in the air! I'll see how I feel when it comes around :-)
I haven't figured out exactly how long I want my runs to be next week, but that leads me to my next big thing....... I RAN FIVE MILES TODAY!!!!!!!!!!! Yep that's right this girl right here is officially in the 5 mile club :-) This morning I started out thinking I would just do a 4 mile run. I think I pulled a muscle in my saddle bag area of one of my legs (I don't know though I have never pulled a muscle before? I just woke up and it was super ouchy!) and I was planning on doing the 5 mile run tomorrow, so I figured it would be good to keep it easy. About mile 2 I started thinking well maybe I could do 5 miles today, and by mile 3 I had made up my mind and committed to making it the 5 miles. I had mapped out a 5 mile route at work the other day, so I didn't look at my phone I just kept going. I kept telling myself that I had found a happy pace and that I was feeling good at it so I just needed to keep that pace and not worry about time. And that's exactly what I did! I had a feeling that I was going to be a little short when I got back to where my car was parked so I made sure I kept my same pace and didn't try and finish strong in case I had to keep going. I was right when I looked at my app I was at 4.77 and there was no way I was stopping at that! So I kept on going and made a little loop and got my 5 miles :-) Since I hadn't tried to speed up at the end of my run I was feeling pretty good at the end of it and like I will definitely be able to keep upping my mileage. I don't want to count my chickens too soon, but I would really like to break into the 6's next week. I'm just going to keep going off how I feel until I get back on track with my training schedule. My run break down is:
Total distance: 5.00 on the dot!
Total Time: 54:00 also right on the dot! I couldn't do that again if I tried
Average Pace: 5.6 mph - moving up!
Average Mile time: 10:47
Mile 1: 10:25 pace 5.8
Mile 2: 10:51 pace 5.5
Mile 3:10:51 pace 5.5
Mile 4: 11:18 pace 5.3
Mile 5: 10:31 pace 5.7
Slowest .5: between 3.5 and 4.0 miles 5:46 pace of 5.2
Fastest .5: was my first .5! I don't think that has ever happened for me before. My time was 5:03 at a pace of 5.9. My last .5 was the second fastest at 5:13 and a pace of 5.8 so I'm glad that I could finish at the same pace and didn't just totally peter out.
I don't know what the deal is in the middle. I think that I automatically slow down because I think I am going to run out of energy. I should probably start watching my running app more and trying to stay at a constant pace, but for me it makes it way harder to get through the run when I'm watching the mileage... hence why I hate the treadmill!
In other news I had Wholly Guacamole for the first time today and I think I have a new obsession!! It's delicious! I was skeptical when I bought it that at 100 calories a pack it had to be full of a bunch of nasty preservatives and additives, but it's not! So I may just start eating like 10 packs of it a day and substituting it for all real meals!
I had a bunch of other stuff to talk about, but I am going to save it for tomorrow because math studying calls :-( why am I going back to school again?!?!?! Sorry I have been so boring and scatter brained this week I promise to be back on track next week!
