My alarm went off at 6 (because I had already moved it back from 5:45 the night before) and I decided sometimes a girl just needs some sleep! I have had a few seriously crazy days! After Monday's workout of running, yoga, bootcamp, and zumba my body was beat! I did get up yesterday and go to butts and guts, but when I went to run my body was just EXHAUSTED! I didn't just quit though :-) I had already run about a 1/3 of a mile so I just called that my "warm up". Then I went to a parking lot and ran sprints between 2 telephone poles, I think it was about 50ish yards. I had originally planned on doing 10, but after 6 I was feeling like dying. So I compromised and decided 8 was a good starting place and I would work my way up on a day I didn't already feel like my gas tank was on E. My calves were already pretty sore yesterday morning, but today HOLY MOLY. I got up to let the dog out and I could barely walk! Glad the BF was still asleep so he didn't see my crazy little duck walk I was doing. I'm not sure if I had actually gotten up at 6 if I would of been able to get my 5 mile run in! I am still going to go after work today (I have to!), but I feel about a thousand times better with an extra 1 and a half of sleep! I seriously needed it!
Besides getting 6 workouts in, in 2 days the other reason I have been so busy is I started this "care package" for the humane society in Moore, OK. I was reading mamalaughlin's blog yesterday and at the end she had links to websites where you could donate. I have a SERIOUS soft spot for animals (in case you didn't notice the 5000 pictures of my dog). So I picked the humane society one. I made a donation, but they had a list of things they were in need. I decided I would gather a few things and send them a "care package". Because of where I work I have access to some of them, so I sent out a few emails and asked around a little bit and before I knew it my "care package" had exploded!! Which is awesome my heart is exploding with how charitable so many people have been :-) It really makes my heart happy and makes me proud to live in a town surrounded by people who are so kind hearted. Because it has grown so much it has become a pretty big responsibility!!! My biggest issue right now is finding a way to get it all there! I had planned on mailing my "care package", but I'm pretty sure I have outgrown that option. Have you ever mailed 200 towels? I don't think I want to even find out how much that would cost! Plus I'm not sure how much of the medical supplies you can actually mail! Don't want to end up in jail for sending needles and vaccines through the mail :-)
Even though I am a little overwhelmed right now it is TOTALLY worth it, and I have faith that somehow this will all come together and work out. That's all I've got for now because I need to get a few Moore (tehehe) emails out to try and find a solution. Happy hump day and please continue to keep the people and animals of Moore in your thoughts!
